Failure of expectations. One of the main disadvantages of "friendly sex" is that one of you might be dissatisfied with the situation and might dream of serious relationships. If such feelings are nonreciprocal, than the partner who loves the other and who wants serious relationships will inevitably be hurt. He or she will have to suffer a lot from jealousy and other very unpleasant feelings.

It is very difficult to separate sex from emotions, but this is exactly what you should do if you think of having sex with a friend.

Tip. Avoid the instinct of owner. Always keep in mind that you have absolutely free relationships without any duties and responsibilities. For instance you should understand that the fact that you are busy today does not mean that your partner does not have the right to spend time with someone else. If you are a jealous person you should not begin such relationships.

The end of friendship. Be ready for the worst scenario as balancing on the brink of love and friendship is very likely to break friendly relationships. What is more, you might lose any kind of relationships up to complete disregard of each other. Unfortunately, this is the most probable end of the “romance”, since as soon as you stop being only friends and start having sex, your relationships will never be the same.

Tip. If you want to be a close friend of a person who, unfortunately is of the opposite sex, try to avoid risks. I mean such situations that are likely to provoke sex: do not drink alcohol together and do not spend much time alone with your friend, without somebody else's presence.

Negative influence on future serious relationships. If your partner whom you love and with whom you have serious relationships finds out you had sex with friends of the opposite gender she will be jealous and suspicious towards other women.

The same can be said about men. Your boyfriend is unlikely to be happy with the fact that you have sex with men whom you do not love. He wants to be sure that you are unlikely to cheat on him, unless you fell in love. He wants to be sure you are not so easy to seduce.

Happy end. This happens very rarely, almost never, but still sometimes both partners feel they want something more romantic and serious than just friendship and sex without any duties and responsibilities. Usually such couples are very happy as their relationships are based on friendship, mutual understanding and deep feelings. Sometimes sex with a friend is worth trying!
